I am inviting all of you to participate in a Protect our Healthcare Rally in Ashland, Saturday, February 25, 2017. We plan to meet up at 1:30PM at Pioneer Hall across from Lithia Park after the AllCare Meeting. The AllCare meeting is to explain this organization’s ill conceived and abrupt transfer in mental health services for 3,000 OHP patients from Jackson County Mental Health to a private group, “Options” which has not yet even located in the county. This transition is not only disrupting current care of vulnerable patients but is also going to put about 200 mental health providers out of a job. We are protesting this decision and also speaking up for the national attack on health services across this country. We recognize healthcare as a human right and promote a system of health care for all Oregonians. Come join us for a rally and March through Ashland to the library!
Many have expressed concern regarding these changes in mental health coverage for patients of AllCare (moving from Jackson County Mental Health to something else). A recent article in the Mail Tribune reported that, in addition to the Ashland AllCare meeting, there will be another public meetings with AllCare on February 25. at the Medford Library at 5:30 pm. If you are interested in this issue, please attend.
